Awards for Volunteer Heroes – LTVCA calls for nominations!

Awards for Volunteer Heroes – LTVCA calls for nominations!
Do you know of an individual, family, group or business that has volunteered their services in the LTVCA watershed for conservation in the past year? If so, we want to hear about them! Many do it without recognition, satisfied with the legacy they leave for future generations.

We think they deserve to be recognized!
The LTVCA is calling for nominations for its annual ‘Awards for Volunteer Heroes.’ These awards honour and recognize those in the community for their outstanding volunteer time and services towards conservation activities that educate about or improve our natural environment, and ultimately the health and quality of life in the Lower Thames watershed and region.

The LTVCA’s ‘Awards for Volunteer Heroes’ recognize people and organizations from across the LTVCA watershed whose time, energy and resources help the LTVCA make the Lower Thames watershed a great place to live. We wish to celebrate and recognize their volunteerism at activities which could include but are not limited to:
• environmental education
• special events
• Board and Committee work

The LTVCA is extremely pleased to thank all those who volunteer toward achieving this goal at our Annual General Meeting each February. Certificates and customized pins are awarded to people for their years of service.

The Nomination Application Form link for the LTVCA Volunteer Award follows. The nominations close on the second Friday of each December. Please note that past winners of the LTVCA’s ‘Awards for Volunteer Heroes’ are not eligible to receive this award a second time but will be recognized on our Honour Roll Award (presented for a sustained record of environmental achievement over an extended period of time). Recipients will also gain the opportunity to be nominated for local, provincial and national volunteer awards.

Nominations may be made by the general public, LTVCA Directors and staff.

Nominations are reviewed and evaluated by the ‘Awards for Volunteer Heroes’ Committee. Up to four nominations are selected each year. ‘Awards for Volunteer Heroes’ recipients will be notified.
