Chatham – Chatham-Kent & Lambton Children’s Water Festival organizers are thrilled to partner with RBC BlueWater to further efforts to educate local children about water protection and conservation. “We are very grateful to receive this much needed funding for our Annual Festival. Its support for water projects and connections with the community is a perfect fit for some of things we are trying to achieve,” says Don Hector – Festival Coordinator. The $5,000 cheque presentation to the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the RBC Branch at 190 King St. West in Chatham on June 2. RBC staff volunteers will also be welcomed volunteers at the Chatham-Kent & Lambton Children’s Water Festival!
The RBC Blue Water Project is a wide-ranging program dedicated to protecting the world’s most precious natural resource: fresh water. RBC supports initiatives that help protect water in our growing towns and cities. The centrepiece of the RBC Blue Water Project is a $50 million charitable commitment to support organizations that are working to protect water in our growing towns and cities. RBC provides grants in regions where they have a business footprint.
Clean water and a healthy environment provide many ecological, social and economic benefits. The Chatham-Kent and Lambton Children’s Water Festival helps to improve our quality of life while maintaining sustainability in our community by fostering respect for water and encouraging environmental stewardship. The 8th Annual “Chatham-Kent & Lambton Children’s Water Festival” will take place on Oct. 4 to 6, 2016 at the CM Wilson Conservation area. Registrations for all elementary schools (Grade 4 & 5 level ) were distributed to all school boards in mid April.
