Mount Brydges – Looking for something to do with the kids over March Break? Why not ‘step into nature’ and get some fresh air and exercise at Longwoods Road Conservation Area and the Ska-Nah-Doht Village & Museum!
Located just a half hour west of London or an hour east of Chatham, families can enjoy a guided nature hike or a tour of Ska-Nah-Doht Village. From March 12-16, these activities will begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. sharp. Each hike or tour is one hour. Cost is $4 per vehicle, coin or credit card at the pay and display machine located at the entrance gatehouse.
No need to pre-register! Simply gather at the Resource Centre at one of these times and meet up with an LTVCA staff who will be your guide. Dress for the outdoors as you could be outside for an hour. Bring a picnic lunch (no food available onsite) to eat at a picnic table outside or in a cabin beside a cozy, warm woodstove. Please note that children must be supervised by parents or guardians at all times. Children without adult supervision cannot take part in guided hikes or tours.
Discover the wonders of nature as spring wakes up along our beautiful woodland and wetland trails, bridges and boardwalks. Imagine what it was like 1,000 years ago to live in a longhouse! See museum artifacts of long ago. The park is open daily from 9 a.m. until sunset and the buildings are open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Longwoods Road Conservation Area and Ska-Nah-Doht Village & Museum are located at 8348 Longwoods Road (Mount Brydges), just 6.5 km west of Delaware or 10 km east of Melbourne.
“LTVCA acknowledges the financial support of our 10 watershed member municipalities, our many granting partners and dedicated volunteers”
