Sinclair’s Bush is a 46 hectare forest. In 1987, through the Carolinian Canada Program, the LTVCA acquired a 1.6 hectare parcel of land within Sinclair’s Bush. The Ministries of Natural Resources and Culture and Communication’s Ontario Heritage Foundation provided the funding. This foundation contributed 50% of the cost, which was matched by Wildlife Habitat Canada and the Nature Conservancy of Canada (through a donation from Union Gas – Chatham). Approximately, 33 hectares of private lands in Sinclair’s bush are protected through landowner cooperation.

Directions:  4 km southeast of Blenheim. Take Talbot Trail south to Harwich Road. Turn south onto Harwich Road. Located on the northeast corner of Harwich Road and Sinclair Line (see watershed map).

Coordinates: Lat/Long 42.319, -81.937   UTM 422820, 4685665

Features: (see conservation areas grid) Sinclair’s Bush is not open for incompatible dayuse or overnight activities, such as camping or picnicking.

Natural Features: Site #29 – Natural heritage Stewardship Program. In addition to being a Carolinian Canada site, Sinclair’s Bush is also an ANSI (Area of Natural and Scientific Interest). Seven provincially rare species are found here, including the pawpaw tree, tulip tree, Carrey’s Sedge and the winged monkey flower. This forest is an undisturbed, original forest.
