McGeachy Pond Conservation Area

McGeachy Pond Conservation Area is a 15 hectare property acquired by the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority in 1974. It is a memorial to the late William A. McGeachy.

 

Directions

Located on the north shore of Lake Erie between Erie Beach and Erieau in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. From Blenheim take Talbot Trail (Hwy. 3) south. Then take Erieau Road (Kent Rd. 12) south. McGeachy Pond Conservation Area is located on the right hand side of the road before entering Erieau. Watershed Map

There is an observation platform in the conservation area providing excellent viewing of the lake, pond, and wildfowl. Two fishing docks, a walking trail and a picnic table are also located here. The park is open for dayuse from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. year-round, free of charge.

Natural Features

Located on the north shore of Lake Erie, McGeachy Pond is a Provincially Significant Wetland, and an Area of Natural and Scientific Interest. Enjoy viewing Monarch Butterfly fall migration along this lakeshore habitat.
